This policy explains what information GoQuick collects, how we use it, and the choices you have as a rider or driver on our platform.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your name, phone number, email address, and a profile photo where you choose to add one.
- Location data: your device's real-time GPS location while the app is open, so we can match you with nearby drivers, calculate fares, and track trips in progress.
- Trip data: pickup and drop-off points, routes taken, trip time and duration, fare charged, and ratings given or received.
- Payment information: for cash and EcoCash transactions we record the amount, method, and status of each payment. We do not store your EcoCash PIN or full financial account details.
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and crash logs, used to keep the app stable and secure.
- For drivers: identity documents, vehicle registration, and licence details submitted for verification purposes.
2. How we use your information
- To connect riders with nearby available drivers and facilitate trips.
- To calculate fares and process payments.
- To verify driver identity, vehicle, and licensing details before they can accept trips.
- To provide customer support and investigate complaints, disputes, or safety incidents.
- To send trip updates, receipts, and service notifications.
- To improve app performance and detect fraud or misuse of the platform.
3. Who we share it with
- Drivers and riders see limited information about each other for a trip — name, profile photo, rating, and live location during an active trip — so the pickup can happen safely.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We may share information with payment providers (such as EcoCash) solely to process transactions.
- We may disclose information where required by Zimbabwean law, to comply with a lawful request from law enforcement, or to protect the safety of our riders, drivers, or the public.
4. Location data
- Location access is required for the app to function — it's how we match you with drivers and calculate accurate routes and fares.
- For riders, location is collected while the app is in use and during an active trip.
- For drivers, location is collected while online and available for trips, so nearby ride requests can reach you.
- You can disable location access from your device settings at any time, though this will prevent the app from functioning properly.
5. Data retention
- We retain trip and account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting support, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
6. Your rights
- You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@goquick.co.zw.
- You can update most account details directly within the app under your profile settings.
- You may withdraw consent to location tracking at any time, understanding this limits core functionality.
7. Security
- We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and access controls on our systems.
- No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential and report any suspicious activity to support immediately.
8. Children's privacy
- GoQuick is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
9. Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our service or legal requirements. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email before they take effect.
